A six-issue run doubles. An actor says he is due back on set within days, and a studio head puts Batman on the diamond list. A misprint holds back a foil cover, and a Gotham villain sits at No. 2 on a Friday.

DC announced on 27 October that Absolute Catwoman, the six-issue miniseries from writers Scott Snyder and Che Grayson and artist Bengal, has been extended to 12 issues. Grayson and Bengal return for #7 to #12, and the series continues in 2027.

“Where we take Absolute Catwoman next will deepen her ties to Gotham and beyond,” Grayson said in DC's release. Bengal said he was “ecstatic” to hear the team would get to tell more about Selina next year.

Snyder tied the extension to his own series. The events of Absolute Batman #25, he said, “have been in the larger plans from the series pitch onward, so this moment was also part of the planning for Absolute Catwoman”.

Six issues became 12 on a Tuesday.

The Batman Part II is already in production, Pattinson says

Robert Pattinson told GamesRadar+ that he thinks The Batman Part II is already in production. “I think they're in production already,” he said in an interview published on 26 October. “And I'm starting in a couple of days.” He gave no firmer date than that.

GamesRadar+ asked him about Steven Soderbergh, who it says is helping to finish filming. “I am so happy he's come on to help Matt,” Pattinson said of Matt Reeves. “It's incredibly generous of him – and he's doing it in the loveliest way. It's completely selfless.”

He spoke about the script as well. “I think Matt had put so much work into the script, and we're almost done,” he said.

Deadline carried the same quotes later that day. Neither outlet printed a new studio statement on whether cameras are rolling.

A couple of days, by his own count. The release date stays where it was.

Gunn counts Batman among the DCU's diamond characters

James Gunn wrote on Threads that the DCU's original roadmap was a plan for DC as a whole, Variety reports, “including focusing on diamond characters (Superman, Batman, WW) as well as smaller characters we could turn into diamonds (Krypto, John Stewart, Peacemaker)”. Variety says the DC Studios co-head was responding to a now-deleted post. He also wrote that some stories would stand alone, “which is what Clayface is”.

On 29 October HBO Max posted the full episode of The Suicide Squad: Is It Canon? The Official Podcast on its YouTube channel, and Gunn shared it that afternoon. On the episode Gunn says the DCU's Batman has not been cast yet, and that casting is not far off. He says he wants the best actor for the part rather than a movie star, and puts Batman at roughly Superman's age. He names no actor and gives no date.

Diamond status, and still no one in the suit.

McFarlane opens pre-orders on Batman and the Joker in animated form

McFarlane Toys posted on 27 October that its 6-inch Batman from The New Batman Adventures is up for pre-order at select retailers. The figure comes with six extra hands, two grapnel launchers, a batarang, an animation cel, an art card, a display base and a reprint of Batman Gotham Adventures #31.

An hour later The Joker followed. He comes with four extra hands, a weapon, an animation cel, an art card, a display base and the same reprint comic. Each post's graphic carries the Page Punchers logo and says a comic is included.

Neither post gives a ship date.

Two figures, one comic in both boxes.

Absolute Batman #25 is out, and a store's foil variant was misprinted

Absolute Batman #25 is in shops. Scott Snyder wrote on Bluesky on 28 October that it is the series' “biggest issue so far” and that it “wraps up the latest story arc” from him and Nick Dragotta.

Mark Brooks's store, ComicSketchArt, wrote on 27 October that its Dexter Soy variant went wrong at the printer: “due to a printing error at DC, the Trade Dress Foil edition was mistakenly printed on cardstock instead of foil.” The store says “DC has confirmed they will be reprinting the books with the correct foil treatment”, which adds about six weeks for unsigned copies and about eight for signed ones.

On 29 October the store offered the misprinted copies to its Brooks Brigade members as a cardstock edition.

The arc is wrapped. The foil comes later.

Clayface is No. 2 on its second Friday, Variety says

Variety reports that Clayface landed at No. 2 on its second Friday, behind the documentary You Can See Everything, with $3.3 million from 3,478 North American theatres. Variety puts the domestic total at $36.9 million so far, with rival estimates suggesting another $10.25 million by Sunday.

Deadline lists the film's first week at $33.7 million in the week's top-five table on its box office page. Its Saturday chart had Clayface at $3.25 million on Friday, down 69%, with a three-day weekend of $10.4 million and $44 million after two weeks.

The film's score is coming to records. Mutant, with WaterTower Music and DC Studios, is releasing Volker Bertelmann's score on two 140-gram colour vinyl discs and on CD, with cover art by Randy Ortiz. Mutant gives an estimated release date of January 2027. “He gave me a lot of freedom to search for the right sound for the film,” Bertelmann says of the director, James Watkins.

Second on a Friday, with Sunday still an estimate.

Stanley Artgerm Lau posted his Poison Ivy piece for his Arttrober run on 30 October and wrote that it “is also the Original Art for my Poison Ivy #50 official variant cover.” He added: “This is the first time I’ve created a full-color OA for my comic covers”. His post gives no date for the issue.
