Camp puts Batman: Shadow of the Bat into winter

A chemical cloud hangs over one Gotham neighbourhood in new pages from Deniz Camp and Javier Rodríguez. A paused film keeps its director. Editions, a rating and a statue fill the rest of the week.

Deniz Camp posted on 14 October: “Shadow of the Bat. This winter. Bear witness.” The season is the creator's own word.

Earlier pages carry the premise. One post from Camp shows a title page for Batman: Shadow of the Bat headed “Airborne Chemical Event” and credits Javier Rodríguez with the art. A second post sets out “A chemical explosion. A toxic cloud. A quarantined neighborhood. A thousand kinds of madness.” Camp adds new villains, new supporting characters and new situations, and calls the book “A new approach to Batman.”

The premise is Gotham cut off from Gotham. The season is winter. The day is still blank.

Reeves is still directing The Batman Part II, the Times reports

Matt Reeves posted on 15 October: “Just to be clear, I am not leaving The Batman Part II.” Reeves thanked Steven for help to finish principal photography. The post names no surname and gives no reason beyond a challenging time.

Deadline prints a studio statement naming Steven Soderbergh. The statement says Soderbergh approached Reeves and steps in, with the full support of DC Studios, to help complete the final weeks of principal photography. It gives the reason as an ongoing family matter, in the studio's words. Deadline also prints Soderbergh saying the goal is footage that fits the footage already shot, so Reeves can finish the film. Post-production stays with Reeves, per Deadline, when Reeves is ready to return.

The Los Angeles Times reports James Gunn wrote on Threads on Thursday: “Matt is still the director of The Batman 2 and always will be.” The Threads post itself stays unopened, so that line stays reported through the Times.

IGN asked Peter Safran if any scenario exists where The Batman Part II does not start filming again. Safran answered: “No.” No restart date is on the record. The director is still the director. The help has a name, through the studio statement. The calendar has no new day.

Deathstroke aimed at Batman's whole life, EW says

Entertainment Weekly reports on 17 October that Joe Manganiello's memoir Bloodlines says the actor would have played Deathstroke in Ben Affleck's unmade Batman film. The report carries the memoir's aim in one phrase: Deathstroke attempted to “dismantle Batman's entire life”. That is premise, in EW's report from the memoir. No other fate from the unmade film runs here.

Simon and Schuster lists Bloodlines from Avid Reader Press with an on-sale date of 13 October and a length of 320 pages. The publisher page says nothing about Batman or Deathstroke. The Batman part rests on EW. An unmade film gets one paragraph of premise, and no more room than an unmade film has earned.

Argent describes its editions as fine-press versions of DC stories, each limited to 47 copies. The edition page gives no sale date. A short run, printed by letterpress, with Bolland back at the front of the book. The count is the story.

BBFC gives Clayface an 18 and a running time

The BBFC lists Clayface as an 18 for “strong bloody violence, injury detail”. The board classified the 2D cinema version on 14 October. Its page gives a running time of 108m 20s, distributor Warner Bros Entertainment UK Ltd, and a UK release date of 23 October.

The rating belongs to the UK cinema cut. The board page does not state a North American running time. Content detail past the short insight stays off the page. An 18, a length, and a date. The board prints all 3 in plain type.

CBR reports that Webtoon announced Batman: Wayne Family Adventures Season 5 at New York Comic Con on 10 October. CBR names CRC Payne as writer and states: “There is no set release date for Batman: Wayne Family Adventures Season 5 yet.” The season number rests on CBR.

Webtoon carries a plainer note on the series page, saying the series will return. The page lists the Season 4 finale, Episode 218, dated 16 September 2026. It names no season number and no date. Return confirmed on the title page. Season 5, reported by CBR. A date, from nobody yet.

Prime 1 puts Batman against a comics Clayface

Prime 1 Studio lists a 1/4 scale Batman VS Clayface statue in its Ultimate Premium Masterline, over 80 cm tall. The maker page says the piece rebuilds a variant cover by Jim Lee from the Batman: One Bad Day story of Basil Karlo as a full figure. Lights sit in Clayface's eyes and mouth, per that page.

A post from Prime 1 Studio dated 15 October says pre-orders opened that day. The post adds a DX Bonus Version head for Batman wearing a rebreather. This Clayface is the comics Basil Karlo, not the film's Matt Hagen. Batman stands against a cover, at full size. Eighty centimetres is the argument.

Late wires

Deadline places the Clayface world premiere at the Hollywood Legion Theater in Los Angeles on 13 October, with Tom Rhys Harries, Naomi Ackie, James Watkins and Peter Safran among the names in its captions. James Gunn called the night a favourite premiere in a long time, with a favourite film in a long time. Paul Dini enjoyed the premiere, and cited The Fly and Universal's Wolfman as comparisons for Watkins' film.

WaterTower Music lists the Clayface soundtrack with a release date of 16 October and 23 tracks. Volker Bertelmann holds the score credits, and Jasmine Jethwa sings “If You Leave Me Now” as track 2.

Warner Bros. has put Clayface into Fortnite as an event across 3 Creative islands, Havoc Hotel 2, Havoc Hotel 3 and Klombos Bedwars. No outfit or skin is named in that post. Funko posted on 16 October that a Pop Matt Hagen/Clayface figure is coming soon. No date follows the words.

IGN also asked Peter Safran about the Absolute Batman animated series. Safran placed the animated projects in early stages and said Scott Snyder is at work on the Absolute Batman scripts. No network, format or date is in that answer.
